Outdoor Learning

We are extremely proud of our outdoor learning environment. To the left of the playing field, we have a large Outdoor Learning area. This is a great place for pupils to investigate minibeasts, create artwork using natrual objects and also work collaboratively with their peers.

Here is a little overview of the activities you might see if you visit our Outdoor Learning area:

Activities can include exploring water flow, whilst playing with the water cascade equipment, or creating artwork using leaf rubbings. Children also have the opportunity to weave willow which can then be used for hoopla rings or even fishing rods!

The mud kitchen, hammock and rope swing are always popular. Children enjoy painting large pebbles and pictures. Younger years have enjoyed using picture symbols, musical instruments and voice sounds to create a ‘sound story’ about the woodland, based on the weather.

To finish the session, we often sit in our camp and enjoy a hot chocolate. Why does food always taste much better when eaten around a campfire in the great outdoors?
